Former UBC football team members charged in 2018 campus sexual assault
CBC News recently published an article, “Former UBC football team members charged in 2018 campus sexual assault.”
The article mentions how three men have been charged with sexual assault of a woman on the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus in 2018. The accused are in police custody, and will appear in provincial court in Richmond at a later date.
The men were all members of the university’s football team, the UBC Thunderbirds, at the time of the alleged assault. One has since been drafted to the Calgary Stampeders. A written statement by UBC says that all athletes sign a Varsity Code of Conduct, and are required to participate in educational sessions with the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office.
